Lynchburg Art Festival
The 53rd Lynchburg Art Festival was a great success! I’m so thankful to everyone who supported me by cheering me on from Facebook, visiting my booth, or purchasing a painting or a print. I was not sure quite what to expect going into it. This was the first art fair that I have done that is only for fine art. There was a large crowd and so many artists with great paintings. There was so much beauty all around and I was so happy to be a part of it. I really enjoyed hearing people’s comments as they looked at my paintings and talking to everyone about them. It was fun to see people recognize the locations of many of my pieces and hear share their connection with them.
These three paintings all found a new home this past weekend! I sold several prints as well as the original of Hope Keeps Hiking. A woman who was on her way home from the gym saw Balcony Study 1 and asked to buy it right away. She didn’t even the art festival was going on. A woman with a fox sweater bought my fox painting, so I know it will be well loved.
Recent Work
I spent most of August admiring the mountains. I loved seeing all of the Queen Anne’s Lace along the roads. Summer’s Edge was created from a composite of several images that I was looking at. It is a view from the end of our lane that we live on and I see every day. At the Foot of the Mountains is from Graves Mill Farm in Madison, VA. I finally made it up to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park to paint. A Hazy Day in Shenandoah is from the Pinnacles overlook.
